Italy on My Mind

Italy is on my mind. So I dusted off the pixels and re-opened an album stored on my computer which I began late last year. I was 27 pages into the project but only in our second day in Tuscany when I stopped - because Christmas came! The project stalled and I haven't returned to it until tonight.



Maybe it is time to get back to it now. My son gave me a voucher for an Art History book for Mother's Day since walking the streets of many of my artist heroes had reawakened my interest. I hope I can return to Italy again someday...but for now I know I must return to the story of our visit!



Here is a peek at a couple of pages from the beginning of the book. They are made with Creative Memories freebies and bits and pieces from CM product and a bit of playing around! I created an embellishment from a watercolour of the grape leaves that really helped to set the tone for these photos. You can watch a video of how I make my own embellishments - see the link in my post back in March.

I'll drop in a layout from time to time in my blog in the coming months as I document our way through our tour of Modena, Florence, Rome and Venice. Maybe sharing some of my progress here will help keep me to task and finish the book so we can REALLY enjoy it this Christmas!

My hubby just popped on the Tour of Italy as I was finishing this post! I love watching the cycling - as long as they show lots of countryside too! They are a bit northeast of Milan in Ciserano! Gotta go have a peek...
